I'm back from my 12 day EDSea b2b EDC Orlando trip to Florida. I woke up this morning wondering what I would accomplish considering I have nothing on my agenda. I decided to go with the flow and it led me into wanting to create my first ever vlog. The idea for the vlog came to me as I was unpacking. I realized I didn't get much content prior or during the fest about my make-up routine so I figured why not run through what I actually had on my EDSea b2b EDCOrlando trip before taking everything out of the travel bags and placing back into bathroom? So that's what I did!
I want to be clear that I know my video is not perfect. I have zero experience or training in making videos. The reasons behind wanting to make a video was that I wanted to introduce myself, get comfortable in front of a camera, practice making videos, and honestly just have fun! I apologize in advance if it's a little dragged out or boring. Like I said this is by no means supposed to be perfect as I'm just trying to make progress with content by experimenting through different mediums.
EDSea b2b EDC Orlando Recovery && Make-up Walk-Thru
Self-Care Segment
I wanted to share a few things that help me be in the present while in recovery mode. There is such thing as "post-fest" blues. Essentially the body is drained from all the excitement and leaves some people in a zombie-like mood. Hopefully you can get that sense from me in my video as that's what I'm trying to portray in the music festival lifestyle. It can be hard to go back to the real world. Ears are ringing, blisters are healing, back is sore, communication is slow, and the mind is basically mush. It can be hard to accomplish anything and all one needs to do is rest.
Today I used a facial roller just to stimulate blood flow to my face. It feels drained and fatigued from the lack of sleep. There were at least two separate nights I got no sleep (specifically the night after Club Space on Friday and then Wednesday after having to disembark from the ship). We call that #teamnosleep in the music fest scene. I do not do that often and am actually against it... it just happens sometimes. It usually happens when trying to catch a flight or being booted out of a hotel room. People get caught up partying, are on a schedule, and they lost the opportunity to sleep.
EDSea tip - Pack your bags the night before disembarkation and have your largest check-in luggage outside your stateroom by 9PM. That will make exiting the boat the next morning much smoother. Keep a smaller bag on you packed with all your necessities for the evening and a change of clothes for the morning. Last set ends at 6AM with having to be out of your stateroom at 9AM sharp. They will kick you out!
Mug - Must Shroom Tea Mug by Wicked Hippie
I started drinking more tea after they had a hot tea stand in VIP section of EDCLV 2021 when it was held in October post-pandemic. Tea helps with the throat in several ways - I admit I am a heavy marijuana smoker (and legalization advocate!), singing on top of my lungs, dust getting in my respiratory system, or having to speak loudly because I'm at a fest. Drinking tea post fest feels good and helps with recovery.
Flickering Candle - Grand Canyon by Paddywax
Flickering candle provides sound and smell. I love the entire parks line from Paddywax. Takes me back outdoors without actually being outdoors.
Vape - O.pen Vape 2.0 in Rainbow by Edie Parker
A cute vape accessory to feel chic and not grungy when smoking. Smoking keeps me grounded. I know it doesn't sound like self-care, but self-care to me is whatever makes me feel more relaxed and in-tune with my own body. I have a pre-existing back injury from cheerleading (I was dropped during a stunt) and I prefer to use marijuana medicinally with THC in conjunction with CBD for ease of pain.
Make-Up Walk-Thru Segment
I decided to time myself and see how quick it takes me to do my make-up since it's low maintenance. I knew it was under 10 minutes! I started with the facial sunscreen that also doubled as a make-up primer with a silky finish. When I joke my face is a vampire it's because it's not allowed to touch the sun. I am good with always putting on SPF, sunglasses, and a hat. I cover my face as much as possible.
Beauty Tip - it doesn't matter what brands you use for make-up, just make sure it gives you confidence and makes you feel good about yourself.
I was going through an environmentally conscious phase and using make-up with less chemicals. It ended up looking horrible on me and yet I continued to wear it for almost two years. That's when I started looking at it from a moral philosophy perspective. The pro's of me feeling good about myself outweighed the con's of using less-safe ingredients. What was the point of me wearing make-up if all it made me feel was embarrassed by the end of the day because it was separating so bad? There's chemicals in everything we use these days including our food so I just got past looking at make-up ingredients and started doing what was best for my happiness.

As you may have noticed I use quite a lot of Chanel make-up products. It's my favorite. For my eyes I like to use light pink eyeshadow with neutral beige shading around the creases, a gold eyeliner for under the eye, and then a bright colored eyeliner for top lid. I find the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencils to be my favorite for vivid color. They are easy to use and glide like butter. I don't like tons of black around my eyes because after numerous hours of partying it starts to look worn-out and sometimes crusty or flaky. Also using lighter colors like a gold or pink under the eye makes eyes look wider, brighter, and more awake.
That's my make-up routine for music festivals all done in 8 minutes! Please leave a comment if you have any questions or comments! I'd love to hear from you.
